Born in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina, Carol James Drolet developed her deep love for children, family and the south early in life. Often traveling the oak lined lowcountry, exploring salt marshes and frolicking at the beaches, Carol quickly learned to cherish her southern refuge.
After attending Charleston schools, she ventured to Winthrop College before Charleston Southern University.
She holds a BS degree in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. Her postgraduate studies are
through The Citadel and The University of Charleston.
Carol has many years of teaching and administrative experience. She is a former Head Mistress, public speaker and teacher trainer/presenter for the Tri-County School districts. Passionate about child advocacy, she has served
on several boards for the Metro Chamber of Commerce. As founder of the Field Trip Company, Inc. she states, "Thousands of students and teachers have relished in our adventures and explored places not available without The Field Trip Company, Inc."
Happily married to her husband, Michael, since 1965, Carol beams describing their three sons and daughter.
She makes it very clear that their eight grandchildren are shear splendor.
"It wasn't until the year 2000, after retirement, that I embarked on my writing career. Early in my childhood people told me that I should write a book. The story was there, but I just didn't have time."
Today, Carol happily writes in her cozy library surrounded by a treasure of books. Nestled closely beside her is Mazy her adorable Westie. This is where her first book, My White Cocoon, was created. She and Mazy enjoy volunteering for children as a Therapy Pet team.
